High Point Academy Makes Playground-Building a Community Effort

On April 30 and May 1, more than a hundred members of the greater High Point Academy (HPA) community will spend the weekend working together to add to the school’s outdoor play area. Over the course of the two-day event, volunteers will build two playgrounds that will serve HPA’s 530 students and the local community. The playgrounds will feature a variety of play equipment, including swings, a play house, fitness stations, and modern versions of jungle gyms. Volunteers will also install several additions to the school’s current preschool playground.

Gov. Bill Ritter and Lt. Gov. Barbara O’Brien urged all Coloradans to support the Denver School of Science and Technology (DSST) in its quest to have President Obama deliver the school’s commencement speech this spring. DSST is one of six finalists vying to have President Barack Obama speak at its graduation.
