Far Northeast 9th Graders Start High School and College Together
Collegiate Prep Academy Hosts First Back-to-School Open House for College-bound 9th Graders
Along with eleven schools in the Far Northeast, Collegiate Prep Academy opened its doors to a multitude of students on August 10th. Unlike the freshman at other area high schools, students at Collegiate Prep Academy began high school and college on the same day, tuition free.
With the first two weeks of classes complete, Collegiate Prep is hosting its first Open House on Wednesday, August 24th from 5 p.m.-7p.m. to offer parents a chance to meet the teachers, tutors and administrators working to send their students to college. Those still interested in learning about Collegiate Prep can meet the principal, tour the school and enroll at one of the most academically rigorous schools available in the Far Northeast.

Led by Dr. Karen Alexander, a 10-year veteran with success in building urban high schools, Collegiate Prep holds students, parents and teachers accountable for achieving the highest standards of academic excellence.
“When I thought about moving from Houston to start Collegiate Prep Academy, I thought, wow; what an extraordinary opportunity to multiply students’ potential,” said Dr. Alexander. “At Collegiate Prep, words like ‘can’t’ are simply not accepted. All of our students will graduate high school, and earn at least one year of college credit, period. I’m not saying it will be easy, but together with students, teachers, parents and the Far Northeast community it will be a reality.”
