Business Spotlight: Mattie Soprano’s Ristorante & Pizzeria
On the Northwest corner of the Green Valley Ranch Town Center sits a family owned and operated Ristorante & Pizzeria known as Mattie Soprano’s. Bringing a little Italian flavor from the East Coast to the Rocky Mountains, one slice at a time. A family friendly place where the food is always made fresh and the dough is hand-stretched, on every pizza, then baked until bubbling and golden brown. You might see some other pizza joints in the neighborhood, but you don’t get the atmosphere, the large portions and the great service for a very reasonable price. A place where you can sit down with family & friends and enjoy a delicious Italian meal.
A native of New Jersey, and resident of Colorado since 1996, Mattie (the restaurant’s namesake) had a passion to bring his youthful experiences of hanging out at the corner pizzeria to his new home town. So in 2005 he brought his family friendly, authentic, New York style Ristorante & Pizzeria to the Green Valley Ranch community; and, here is where he plans to stay. Having suffered greatly over the past couple of years, due to the recession, he is optimistic the community will bounce back and his business will again thrive. He is especially looking forward to the new high school coming to the neighborhood; but, unfortunately may have to wait another couple of years for that to happen. This, however, doesn’t shake him too much. He knows ultimately that he’s got great food, great employees (mostly family), and he can offer his customers what the competition can’t.
In the meantime, the restaurant offers pick-up catering for very reasonable rates (additional costs for delivery and set-up if requested); and, has several corporate catering contracts with companies like United Airlines, and Frontier Airlines (before they moved their offices from the state). You can also rent out the restaurant for a couple of hours, minimum of 30 people (capacity 70), for an average per person cost between $11-$16 dollars. Considerably lower than most professional catering operations in the Denver area. Aside from this, Mattie Soprano’s has become a meeting place for church groups, book clubs; and the Business Relationship Action Group (B.R.A.G. ), which meets every second and fourth Thursdays at 6:00 pm.
