Announcing Earth Day 2010 Poster Contest Winners!

It’s official! The winners of the 2nd Annual Earth Day poster contest have been selected. Montbello High School and the Denver Boys and Girls Club participated with 90 entries!

The community voted on their favorite designs from March 5th through April 5th on MyGVR.org. The 8 top finalists were set aside to be voted on by the Green Valley Ranch Citizen Advisory Board (GVRCAB). The GVRCAB Community Events Committee met on April 6th to select the winners. The committee considered the number of votes received by the community, how well the theme was depicted and how the design would look on a poster. The finalists were viewed and voted on by each board member. The entries with the most votes became our winner!

The winning student from the ECE-5 will receive an iPod Shuffle. The winner is Cynthia Martinez from The Broncos Boys and Girls Club.  Congratulations Cynthia!

The winning student from the 6-12 grades will also receive an iPod Shuffle. The winner is Abigail Carreon-Lopez from Montbello High School. Congratulations Abigail!

We had many great entries to choose from. Please visit our website at MyGVR.org to see the Honorable Mentions that also deserve recognition. Your GVRCAB look forward to seeing all of you at the 2nd Annual Earth Day Celebration this April 17th, 2010 from 10am-2pm at the Oakwood Homes New Home Center Parking Lot. There will be events for kids to enjoy like a free bounce house and face painting. Fun abounds at this event, don’tn miss out!
