Why is this community process any different from the many that have
proceeded it?

Because this is a special time in the history of Denver Public Schools.  Our
schools have received performance ratings, so we know which schools are
performing well and which ones need improvement.  When you combine this with
the many different resource opportunities now available to innovative
schools and groups of innovative schools, including Race to the Top, far
northeast Denver has a unique opportunity to position ourselves for these
additional resources.  We want to be first in line and we need to show
community support to do so.

8:30 am - 12:00 pm at Rachel B. Noel Middle School

The purpose of this community meeting is to discuss the state of all of our
schools; especially the lowest performing schools and to explore possible
strategies for improvement. Please get engaged and let your voice be heard!

February 18, 2010
5:00-6:30pm at Montbello High School

Speaker:  Eva Moskowitz, Chief Executive Officer, Success Charter Network, a
former elected official and Chair of the New York City Council Education
Committee.
