GVR What's Going On? 02-23-2010

By Tom Gibbons

There seems to be new construction everywhere you look.  It is especially noticeable west of Tower Rd. and there is a reason for this. Green Valley Ranch is roughly defined as the area north of 38th Ave., south of 56th Ave., east of Tower Rd. and west of Piccadilly Rd.  This area lies entirely within Denver County but it is bordered immediately by Aurora on the north, south and east.  The taxes and fees developers are required to pay are much lower in Denver County than they are in Aurora and this influences their decisions about where to build.

Senator Reaching out to Local Neighborhoods

By Thad Jacobs

"Do you know who your State Senator is?  In Green Valley Ranch and across northeast Denver, it’s Mike Johnston.  Do you know what bills he is proposing in the upcoming legislative session?  Or how he plans to vote on key issues and why?  Mike believes you deserve to know the answer to all these questions. For that reason – to help keep every citizen involved in the key issues that affect our lives at the state capitol – Mike and his staff are creating Neighborhood Outreach Committees (NOCs) across Senate District 33.

Virtual Tour of GVR Christmas Lights 2009

We took a two hour drive around Green Valley Ranch last night (December 16th, 2009). We zigged and zagged all around the neighborhood. Our pups were excited because they thought we were headed to the dog park, they still had fun and so did we. We forgot to pack the hot chocolate but had a good time touring the neighborhood on the cold but clear night.
